The 11th edition of the Swiss Apoptosis and Autophagy Meeting (SA2M, formerly under the name Swiss Apoptosis Meeting [SAM]) will be held on Sept 9-11, 2020 at the Institute of Pathology, University Hospital Bern (Switzerland). The 2020 edition is co-organized with the French Autophagy Assocation CFATG (http://cfatg.org/en
). This biennial meeting has been initiated in the year 2000 and has since gained a great reputation in the cell death and autophagy communities.
The SA^2M is known as an internationally competitive and low-priced (free registration) conference, offering great science and excellent networking possibilities. Our program figures an excellent set of internationally renowned main speakers. The conference is mostly aimed at academic and basic researchers. However, based on positive feedbacks from previous editions, we again include translational research-oriented talks (for example the Keynote lecture by Prof. S. Muller), making the event attractive to clinical researchers.
We expect up to 200 participants from Switzerland, Europe and overseas. There is a high percentage of PhD students and junior scientists, who actively present their latest findings in short talks and lively poster sessions. We further offer a Satellite Symposium for students and postdocs, which includes lectures by experts in the field, scientific publishing and on the crosstalk in academic and pharmaceutical biomedical research.
